Training Course Advice
Social Bookmarks: del.icio.us Digg it Furl Google ma.gnolia reddit Simpy Squidoo YahooI receive a number of letters each day, but this one is typical of the of people starting out on a hairdressing career, and I thought I would share this with you. I have kept the real identity of the person secret.
I am currently studying the NVQ II hairdressing course at college, learning the Toni and Guy Classic cuts. As I am in a class of 16 and am new to hairdressing I feel I am not getting enough one to one time from my tutor. Does your course work to the same cuts as Toni and Guy or will it be so different that it may confuse me?
I look forward to your reply.

G.
Hi G,
This is an interesting question, I do not know if the way I teach will be the same as the way your tutors are teaching you, I suspect that there will be differences as the way I teach has taken me years to perfect, but don’t forget, I am cutting hair everyday of my working week, although I am a qualified tutor, I am a hairdresser first.
The way I teach will give you a comprehensive guide to haircutting, I do not just tell or show you how to cut the hair shorter, I give you the reasons why I stand in certain positions and hold the hair in specific ways, I try to go into as much detail as possible, but most of all I keep it very simple and work slowly.
I have been taught three different ways to cut hair, and I benefited from each method I was shown.
If one way is not working for you, another way might help more. Sometimes it maybe confusing, but sometimes looking at a haircut from a different way can unlock the way you think about that haircut and make it easier for you.
I hope this information helps you, many thanks.
John Mcloughlin.
