How can I learn from a DVD?
This comes down to how we learn as hairdressers. If you found learning at school not that easy, it is to do with how you learn. You will find that you learn better if some, explains, shows you or you watch them do something, this is called Pychomotive learning. So watching someone doing say a haircut on a DVD, you will find this an easy way for you to learn.
How can I practice doing the haircuts?
Rather than going straight onto your friends and family, you can work on the hairdressing blocks, this is why the demonstration are completed on the blocks, so you can see the same effect that you can achieve. If you cannot get any hairdressing blocks just order them from us and we will send you as many as you want. The Foundation 8 DVD’s, are best completed on 2 hairdressing blocks.
Why is the course so cheap?
We have purposely kept the price down on the course to make in affordable to the younger students. I feel the training available at the moment is insufficient, and if hairdressing is to progress the fundamental knowledge has to be available to the masses, and that is exactly what the training does in a structured way.
How many hairdressing block will I need to complete the course?
The course has been designed to work on 2 hairdressing block, you will not need a block per haircut. The structure has also been carefully though out so you can move from one haircut to the other, with enough hair still on the block.
When making payments are they safe and secure?
The payments are done through a secured server via world pay, but if you are still not at ease with this, we can take the order by phone. I have to say though that I feel the secured site is a safer way of making a payment as you can print out and track the details, we also give a response to you when a payment has been made.
Are there any instructions with the DVD’s?
Yes included in the pack are some drawings and helpful hints and tips to assist you. There is also the “Inner Circle Forum” that you will be able to log into, here you can post questions that will be answered, and of course once you have bought the pack you will be able to take advantage of the life-time-membership.
How fast can I learn?
This is were this course comes into its own, the only restrictive area of the course is you! The more you practice the better you will become. I did this in only six months, I worked very hard, but you could do it before that because I give you all the hints and tips it took me years to acquire.
Is there a qualification to the course?
No, one of the problems with the hairdressing qualifications is that the emphasis is on the paperwork, getting you to complete exams, test and coursework assignments. Unfortunately these do not make you a good hairdresser, how good you are at say cutting will be the main area a salon owner will be looking at. Hairdresser-Training is all about giving you the skills to do the job, this is what makes you a good or great hairdresser.
How will I be judged?
Once you have practiced enough on the hairdressing blocks you will go on to work on friends and family, before moving onto paying clients. The feedback you get from your friends and family, and how you feel yourself will be the best indicators of how well you are doing at your new hairdressing career.
Where could I work?
Once you have built up your skills, you could do freelance work, traveling to the clients houses, or get a job in a salon, after you have passed their skills test, most salon owners want to see how good you are at the job, hence the skills test. Once you feel comfortable with your skills, nothing should hold you back to do whatever you want to do in hairdressing.
What if I am at college, can I still do the course?
If you are at college you can easily run this course alongside your college course, the benefit of this is you can still gain the qualification but you will have sped your learning, and I am sure you will be top of the class.
